Beg. Optics Course

Course Information

Are you ready to begin your journey of exploration? The ‘science elites’ S1-S3 students will learn basic optical knowledge through hands-on experiments designed by CAS Siyi Lab and will get to participate in the Original Experiment Design Challenge. This is not your typical classroom experience. Our course aims to ignite your curiosity and inspire your passion for learning. You will delve deep into the fascinating world of optics, exploring how light interacts with matter, how lenses bend light rays, and how mirrors reflect the world around us.

Time: 9:00 AM- 4:00 PM (12:00pm-1:00pm Lunchtime)

Location: TBD

Age: 12-14 years old (S1 to S3)

Equipment: Experimental equipment deployed and certified by the Chinese Academy of Sciences

Language: Chinese

Certificate: Click here for a sample. The final design may be updated from time to time.

After completing the 11 optical courses, groups of three students will independently plan, design and conduct original optical experiments.

Awards & Grand Prizes: The TOP scoring team will receive an "Outstanding Student" certificate from CAS and present their scientific findings to experts, researchers, and guests.

Students need recommendations from their teachers in order to register, and students with excellent grades are given priority.
